2-time Emmy award winner and 3-time BMI Film and TV Award winner
Michael “Smidi” Smith is a Clio, Telly, Addy, 2-time Emmy award winner and 3-time BMI Film and TV Award winner. Smid has produced and written songs that have sold over 14 million copies worldwide including multiple #1 songs, albums and top tens. Smidi has worked with Bebe Rexha, Giorgio Moroder, Coldplay, Sia, Ke$ha, Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland, the Pussycat Dolls, One Republic, Tyrone Wells, Paramore and others.
The Recording Academy asked Smidi to produce a live artist series at his studio in Venice, California called “Grammy ReImagined.” For the series, Smidi produced live performances with Paramore, Big Boi from Outkast, TJ Stafford, Milo Greene, Eric Benet, Lyfe Jennings and Chris Young.
Smidi’s production company, Saint Rogue’s newly formed Media division has recently launched with a full slate of TV, Film, and Animated projects. With roots in music production and publishing, Saint Rogue is focused on projects in which original songs and scoring are integral to the storytelling, and designed to capitalize on the many additional revenue streams available
today — something with which Saint Rogue is intimately familiar. Saint Rogue’s music licensing and synch partner is Sony/Extreme.
Smidi is an adjunct professor in USC’s Thornton School of Music Production program.
