Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Doug Green started New Rivals Entertainment with a strong passion for music which built the foundation of his company. Green began his professional career in 2012 as Director of Business Affairs for Flexitone Records run by David Ivory. Ivory is a Grammy Award-nominated multi-Platinum recording engineer, producer, studio owner, and music business entrepreneur. His credits include The Roots, Erykah Badu, Halestorm, Kindred the Family Soul’s -Rhythm of Life among many others.
Green’s position included day to day operations of label promotion under Ivory while writing press releases, securing radio airplay across the nation as well as booking and promoting label showcases. In addition, he also assisted with creating and designing band websites as well as selecting singles for album placements. The vast range of artist genres on the label gave Green the opportunity to expand his knowledge of the different directions in the industry. Working with artists like the Sharon Lia Band, Sunset Villains, Strange Karma and more, Green was able to expand his reach by adding brand development and creation of marketing to his repertoire of his abilities. Ivory gave him the opportunity to learn and succeed giving him responsibilities in all parts of the company. He was able to secure artist performances at the Firefly Festival, the Ladybug Festival as well as opening slots for national touring acts.
While working with a booking agency, he learned how to pitch for and negotiate regional and international buy-on performances. While collecting and recording metadata for his artists and bands, Green decided to join forces with esteemed entertainment attorney Simon Rosen to help artists on the legal side of the music industry. Green and Rosen began collaboration in 2017 and continue to work closely together. Their duties range from artist management and development to contract review, brand sponsorships, financial administrator and more. It was through the encouragement of Rosen, Green began New Rivals Entertainment and working as Sr. A&R for Blue Collar Records.
The company circles around marketing, artist management and development, consultant, director of A&R, song pitching, and anything else that could benefit the creator. New Rivals is home of rock band The Warhawks, #1 hit songwriter Jennifer Adan and now serves as A&R for Teri Carpenter’s company, Reel Muzik Werks out of Nashville, TN.
As the roster grows, Green continues to be an advocate for the independent artist and songwriting lending his skills to help organize and streamline creative channels for his clients. As a point of contact for radio pluggers, show promoters, sync agents, lawyers, public relation teams, management and more, Green serves as a do-it-all entrepreneur for the creative masses allowing his clients to achieve more and expand their reach of what music is capable of.
