BMI: Senior Director, Distribution & Publisher Relations
Barbie Quinn is Senior Director, Distribution & Publisher Relations at Broadcast Music, Inc
(BMI) in Los Angeles. She works closely with the departments of Operations and Information
Technology as part of an integral team responsible for the ongoing development of royalty
payment policies and procedures regarding music use reporting in audio-visual productions
aired or streamed on television, the internet, and other new media platforms. Additionally,
she maintains and develops relationships within the music publishing, composer, and
production communities, answering inquiries and educating affiliates on BMI policies and
procedures. She began her career in music publishing, beginning with EMI Music Publishing
and then with Warner Chappell Music. Having worked in the London office for EMI Music and
traveling extensively throughout her music publishing career, she has gained a world view
and respect of songwriters, composers, publishers, and the music industry.
For the past ten years, Barbie has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of
Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), both being an Officer and various Committee Chairs,
including the Linda Komorsky Scholarship. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the
Songwriters of North American (SONA).
